St Luke's Medical Center

While St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) has been around since 1903, there’s nothing old-fashioned about this huge operation. The 650-bed hospital has nine institutes, 13 departments, and 19 centers, most equipped with the best of modern technology and staffed by internationally trained specialists. More than 1,700 physicians and surgeons are affiliated with SLMC; they see patients in more than 450 private clinics. SLMC re-ceived JCI accreditation in 2003.
SLMC offers all the usual specialties, including cardiovascular medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, cancer, ophthalmology, and treatments for digestive and liver dis-eases. SLMC’s International Patient Care Center recommends medical specialists and makes appointments. It handles hospital admissions and discharges, travel planning, and airport transfers, plus translator, secretarial, and concierge services.
