This 300-bed JCI-accredited hospital opened in 1996. In addition to the usual medical and surgical departments, Jordan Hospital and Medical Center provides specialized therapeutic units for emergency medicine, imaging and interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, renal dialysis, lithotripsy, physiotherapy, gastrointestinal and respiratory endoscopy, cardiac catheterization, and intensive care. It offers specialty clinics for diabetes and endocrinology, osteoporosis, in vitro fertilization (IVF), men’s diseases, and obesity. The hospital’s most often-performed procedures are dialysis, endoscopy, and cardiac catheterization. It served more than 7,000 international patients in 2007. Jordan Hospital is especially proud of its transplantation programs, which include liver, kidney, cornea, and bone marrow. The hospital maintains its own apartments, which are available to recovering patients.
