Hospital San José Tec de Monterrey

Founded in 1969 and only 150 miles from the U.S. border, the Hospital San José Tec de Monterrey is now a comprehensive medical specialty campus with five internationally recognized centers in cardiology, oncology, neuroscience, organ transplantation, and liver disease.

San José Tec has 200 beds (11 master suites and 96 junior suites in tower), 38 ICU beds, and 21 emergency beds. More than 1,500 affiliated physicians and about 500 nurses treat approximately 15,000 inpatients and 92,000 outpatients annually, including 1,400 international patients (800 from the US and Canada).

The Zambrano Hellion Medical Center, opened in 2010, offers centers for oncology, cardiology, and vascular medicine. The affiliated Salvador Sada Gomez Center for Geriatrics and Alzheimer’s disease combines research, teaching, and patient care. Tecnologico de Monterrey School of Medicine has reciprocal training programs with Johns Hopkins Medicine and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, USA.

I had the best medical attention I’ve ever had in my life while I was in Mexico. I know now that I can get into the country without a problem, I can get out of the country without a problem, I can navigate the city and the language barriers without a problem, and I can be seen by excellent physicians without a problem. — Brandy K., Indiana, US
