With 1,300 outpatient surgeries and 4,250 annual admissions, the Caribbean's only JCI-accredited hospital is best known for general internal medicine, pulmonology, orthopedics, cardiac surgery, general surgery, and bariatrics. Frequently performed procedures include balloon angioplasty with stent, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), valve replacement, total hip and knee replacements, and the full range of bariatric and cosmetic procedures and surgeries.

The first open-heart surgery in the Bahamas was performed at Doctors Hospital in 1994.

The 72-bed Doctors Hospital boasts a three-room operating suite, an eight-bed intensive care unit, a rehabilitation department, and a maternity wing equipped with a newborn nursery. Diagnostic equipment includes a 64 slice CT scanner and MRI. The hospital offers a half-day Executive Health and Wellness Program, which includes a complete history and physical, lab tests, electrocardiogram (ECG), chest x-ray, nutrition assessment, and counseling, vision and hearing exams.

Doctors Hospital has also pioneered HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound), often used for the treatment of prostate cancer. The HIFU program attracts about 200 patients per year, mostly from North America.

Doctors Hospital owns Bahamas Medical Center, which opened in 2012, offering specialty services in dentistry, cosmetic surgery, bariatrics, and gynecology.

The International Patient Program for both facilities is staffed by two certified nurses. In total, the hospital and the center treat about 1,000 tourists from the US and Canada annually. The facility offers concierge and travel planning services, along with transportation from the nearest airport and translators for French, Spanish, Italian, and German.
