Twenty-one full-service general hospitals and 16 outpatient clinics operate within the Acibadem network, which is more than a consortium of bricks-and-mortar healthcare facilities. Its business interests include hospital design and construction, emergency and home care laboratory testing, and a fully accredited university. In 2012, Acibadem’s rapid growth led to the signing of a joint partnership with International Healthcare Holdings (IHH), making Ac?badem part of the world’s second largest healthcare company.

Acibadem currently operates 21 hospitals and 16 clinics in four countries. Centers of Excellence throughout the network include 11 Cancer Centers (surgical, radiotherapy, chemotherapy), 16 Heart Care Centers (pediatric and adult cardiology and cardiac surgery), 13 In Vitro Fertilization Centers (Infertility – IVF), 10 Organ Transplantation Centers (liver, kidney, bone marrow), nine Spine Centers, one Sports Medicine Center (accredited by FIFA) and six Robotic Surgery Centers.

Acibadem Kadiköy Hospital in Istanbul was the first hospital in the group. Renovated twice since its opening in 1991, the hospital boasts the use of Flash CT, the fastest and lowest-radiation computed tomography, which can perform angiography and full-body tomography in seconds. Kadiköy is renowned for its specialists in in-vitro fertilization (IVF), cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, and the management of risky pregnancies. The Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic is known for excellence in hand surgery.

Acibadem’s International Hospital in Istanbul was Turkey’s first Western-style private hospital. It opened its doors in 1989 and joined the Acibadem chain in 2005. In 2006, all clinic areas, doctors’ examination rooms, and inpatient floors were renovated. The hospital offers a modern intensive care unit and dialysis units for renal patients, as well as emergency observation beds and post-coronary angiography observation units. Advanced imaging for cancer patients employs 1.5 Tesla MRI.

Acibadem Maslak Hospital in Istanbul occupies more than 106,000square meters of covered area, employing both “smart building” technology and a nearly paper-free electronic record-keeping system. Specialty clinics serve patients seeking treatment for stroke, thyroid disorders, obesity, and infertility.

In addition to Flash CT, the Maslak Cancer Center utilizes MRdien (MRLINAC) equipment, which minimizes damage to healthy tissue in cancer treatment; RapidArc® (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy) technology (which reduces 30-minute cancer treatments to two minutes); CyberKnife® to treat tumors that cannot be treated with conventional radiotherapy; and the da Vinci SI® robot for laparoscopic surgery.

Every year, Acibadem welcomes patients from all over the world to receive a wide array of treatment. The International Patient Services Center has been designed as a “one-stop” service center. Once International patients choose to come to Turkey for their treatment, they can get their travel and treatment plans from one of 32 Ac?badem’s information offices, located in 21 countries and 31 cities outside Turkey. Airport and hotel transportation can be arranged, and language translation is available in 20 languages. Patients seeking a consultation can send their medical history, diagnostic images, and laboratory test results for review by an Acibadem physician, who will advise a recommended course of treatment and assess whether travel to Turkey is warranted.

Currently, two Acibadem facilities, Maslak Hospital, Atakent Hospital and Adana Hospital, are JCI-accredited. Both facilities received full re-accreditation in 2016.
