Established in Jeddah in 1955, Magrabi Hospitals & Centers has been expanding throughout the Middle East and Africa, to now include 24 hospitals and centers in nine countries. The Magrabi ophthalmology franchise now includes 300 physicians and 600 nurses, performing more than 100,000 vision-related surgeries annually. The facilities host some 40 operating theaters.
Magrabi’s inpatient and outpatient surgery center in Dubai carries a staff of eight eye specialists and 39 support personnel. Services include refractive surgery, treatment of cornea and external eye diseases, cataract, glaucoma, retina and vitreous related diseases, oculoplasty, pediatric ophthalmology and optometry services (e.g., contact lenses).
The center also is part of the emirate’s Noor Dubai’s initiative, focused on raising public awareness about eye care and the causes of visual impairment. The campaign includes free treatment of all cases referred directly by Noor Dubai to the Magrabi center.
