Established in 1981, Médica Sur is Mexico City’s largest and most prestigious medical center. This 203-bed, JCI-accredited facility employs nearly 2,500 doctors and surgeons and nurses to treat 12,713 inpatients and perform 9,200 surgeries annually.
To medical travelers Médica Sur is best known for cardiology, oncology, neurology/neuroscience, orthopedics. In 2013 Mayo Clinic announced that Médica Sur had passed Mayo's rigorous review process to become the first international member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network. This allows Médica Sur physicians to collaborate with Mayo Clinic physicians toward offering patients the highest quality medical treatment in Mexico.

Médica Sur serves more than 750 international patients per year, mostly from the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Latin America. Most nurses and doctors speak fluent English.
Médica Sur’s Office of International Patient Management facilitates concierge services such as personalized follow-up on account status, guarantees of payment, and direct communication with international health insurance companies. Individual packages, discounts, and financing are available to meet each patient’s needs.
A chapel, auditorium and patient education center are also available. The hospital offers free transportation service when surgery is scheduled, as well as local travel facilitators for medical tourism. Second opinions are available to patients at no charge, as part of the Mayo Clinic Network.
In 2014 Médica Sur was awarded its initial Joint Commission International accreditation.
