Dünyagöz Hospitals Group—one of the world’s largest vision networks with facilities throughout 21 facilities throughout Turkey and Europe (including the UK and Germany). Among them is Dünyagöz Group Etiler in Istanbul, which opened its doors in 2004. It claims to be Turkey’s biggest eye health center, thanks to its nearly 130,000 square-feet (12,000 square-meter) building that encompasses 10 operating rooms, 50 patient rooms, and 25 consulting rooms. Staffers perform 500 examinations and 250 operations daily.
Specialties include excimer laser and Lasik, cataracts, glaucoma, strabismus, diabetes-related eye disorders, and pediatric eye care. Dünyagöz Hospitals Group attracts more than 30,000 foreign patients per year from more than 100 countries all around the world and performs approximately 3,000 eye surgeries per month on foreign patients.
Dünyagöz maintains a 24/7 call center in multiple languages and an online reservation service. The Group offers a package to foreign patients that includes examinations, tests, and surgeries, plus local transportation, accommodations, and discounted air travel. Staff members speak Turkish, German, Dutch, English, French, Russian, and several Arabic dialects
Good news for "incidental" travelers to Amsterdam: a new full service Dünyagöz facility is planned to open its doors in mid-2017.
